Shouldn't things like tarot readings and energy healing be free?
Differen't people have different opinions on this one. :) We are of the philosophy that it is ultimately more beneficial for all involved when there is a mutual exchange of energy; in this case, payment for services. Additionally, we plan on devoting our lives as much as possible to the study and practice of healing and metaphysics. For us this means that as Beyond Within continues to grow, we will have more time, energy and resources to put toward making it an even greater asset to our visitors.

What's with your names, "Palehorse" and "Gehenna?"
"Palehorse Redivivus" is what happens when "theology geek" meets "metal fan." :P The more "profound" explanation is that the pale horse is "death" in the biblical book of Revelation, and "redivivus" is Latin for "reborn." Another way of expressing "death reborn" is "eternal transition." Fear of change is one of the most common fears, but embracing change as a given (and the crazy rollercoaster that resulted) is a major theme in PH's spiritual path.

"Gehenna" is a long-time online name that originally came from being a D&D geek in the 80's. However, before that it was also another theological reference, mistakenly translated as "hell" in some English Bibles. Its association with fire is nonetheless important here in that spiritually speaking, fire is a symbol of change and purification.

There are lots of people out there who claim to be “psychics” but are way off the mark, or use psychological trickery to appear convincing. What makes you different?
I don't focus on trying to be "different"; just on being true to myself. I am secure enough in my abilities to simply tell the client what I pick up on; no more, no less. If I don't get anything, I would say so. My integrity matters to me, as does providing my client with something they can find valuable and self-empowering.


How do distance readings work? Don’t you have to be face to face?
Well, I’m as comfortable working face to face as I am with someone I’ve never met, possibly over thousands of miles. I am highly sensitive and empathic and I am able to "tune in" to the person I’m working with. I couldn’t tell you the actual mechanics of this because I’m not entirely sure myself; I’ve just always been able to focus on a person and their energy and gain specific insights and information. Energy Healing and Reiki FAQ

What does the word "reiki" mean?
Reiki is two Japanese words, "rei" and "ki," which means "universal life energy."

Can reiki work for pets
Yep! Reiki is good for anything living, and animals seem to like it. Pet sessions are generally shorter, as they'll simply walk away when they've had enough.

How does distance reiki work?
At the energetic level, distance isn't a factor; reiki will flow where it's directed regardless of whether the practitioner is in the same room, or across the world. During a distance session the practitioner will get in a light meditative trance and connect to the energy of the recipient. The practitioner can then send energy where needed just as s/he would if physically present.

What is "retroactive reiki"?
Just as energy can be sent through space, it can be sent backward and forward in time as well. By sending energy, healing and support back to a time when we most needed it, it is possible to undo the negative effects caused at those times, in the present. After achieving great success working on himself with these methods, Palehorse has made this one of his areas of specialization.

Is reiki against my religion?
Reiki is simply a type of energy; there are no specific beliefs associated with it. People of all religions and backgrounds practice and receive reiki.

Is reiki itself a religion?
No. Reiki is not a belief system of any sort; it's an alternative healing modality, comparable to acupuncture or reflexology.

Can reiki heal me?
We are of the philosophy that "all healing is self healing." That is, under the right circumstances, the body will naturally heal itself. With that in mind, reiki and energy healing are great ways to help the body activate and bolster its natural healing mechanism.

Can reiki replace traditional treatment and medication?
No. Reiki should be viewed as a complimentary therapy. It is not a substitute for the input and treatment of your doctor, or prescription medication.

Can kids receive reiki?
Yep! Kids respond very well to reiki. Often they haven't yet been socialized to discount some kinds of experience, so they can be even more sensitive to the energy than most adults.

What does reiki feel like?
Different people experience the energy in a variety of different ways. Common sensations include warmth, coolness, buzzing, and the sensation of a gentle breeze blowing through one's body. Some people don't feel anything at all, but that doesn't mean the treatment isn't working. Some people are simply more energy sensitive than others, although sensitivity can be increased with regular energy work.

Can I schedule an in-person reiki treatment?
We are not offering healing sessions in person at this time, but plan on doing so in the future.

What are chakras?
Chakras are energy centers; the "organs" of the human energy body. Much like physical organs they oversee specific functions. When a chakra is blocked, closed or overactive compared to the others, those functions can be hindered.

What is scanning?
During a scan the energy body is checked for blocks, implants and other issues. This is percieved using all the senses and depends on how the practitioner processes information.

What is a "healing crisis"?
A healing crisis is caused when the body tries to release toxins faster than they can be eliminated. These releases can cause a temporary increase in symptoms before things get better. If a reiki session triggers a healing crisis it is recommended that one get plenty of rest and drink lots of water.

What is an aura?
The aura is an energy field that surrounds the human body, which is visible to some clairvoyants. It offers a measure of protection when strong and healthy; when it is breached or unbalanced, it can effect our emotional state, and even our health.

What is sekhem / seichem?
Sekhem / Seichem is an energy healing system similar to reiki, which is associated with ancient Egypt. It is attuned to the same way reiki is, but is a different kind of energy with a different associated set of symbols.

What are etheric implants?
Ether is a type of energy. With sustained or powerful focused intent, objects formed out of this energy will hold that form. Etheric implants are designed to interfere with the operation of the human energy body. More commonly, strong negative thoughts about another person can cause negative energy to be unintentionally hurled their way, lodging itself in the aura or energy body as a form of unconscious psychic attack. The phrase "staring daggers" at someone is very appropriate here, as clairvoyants will often see this embedded energy in the form of literal weapons.

What kind of problems can etheric implants cause?
The short answer is "whatever problem can be dreamed up by a person or entity with the know-how and lack of ethics to pull it off. " Here is a partial list of implant functions we have personally encountered.

Playing out of character negative thoughts on loop.
Causing severe physical cramping.
Blocking the crown or brow chakras and thus interfering with one's divine connection.
Causing "spikes" of fear in response to things one isn't actually afraid of, or simply at random.
Interfering with one's connection with others, and the ability to give and receive love.
Blocking out or exaggerating emotions.
Sabotaging relationships.
A "beacon" that attracts negative entities.
Interfering with ability to focus.
Interfering with mental mapping and navigation abilities.
Interfering with visual processing.
Interfering with one's vibration. I.e. you've worked hard on having a positive mentality but are still attracting bizarrely negative people and circumstances.
Draining energy.

How can I know if I have etheric implants?
The only way to know for sure is to develop the necessary sensing ability, or get in touch with someone who has the necessary skills to perform a scan of your energy body. Beyond that, if you have a nagging physical issue with no discernable cause, or have done enough internal work to know yourself well (and conversly, know what "isn't you") and are running into mental or emotional problems with no known cause that don't respond to attempts at clearing, then it might be a possibility worth looking into. Additionally, if you are or think you might be an abductee, or have had known problems with negative entities, then the presence of implants is a distinct possibility.

Can I remove my own etheric implants?
We are still experimenting with potentially promising methods that could be used by those without a high degree of psychic sensitivity (and are open to input on this!), but at the present time cannot recommend any of them as a sure way to disable deliberately placed implants. In addition, many implants are deliberately designed to be either hard to find, "booby trapped" against removal, or both. It may be that some implants can be disabled over the long-term by deliberately contradicting their function, and thus denying them the energy they need to sustain themselves. This takes time and discipline however, and one's life may be further harmed in the process. All things considered we highly recommend enlisting the help of someone who is experienced with their detection and safe removal. Our goal is to make ourselves accessible to anyone who needs these services.

What can I expect after having an implant removed?
Based on our experiences doing this work on ourselves and others, we have seen many problems quickly solved, often resulting in a dramatic boost in the individual's quality of life. The other commonly experienced effect is an "energy high" lasting anywhere from a few hours to a day or so. These implants always represent a drain on one's energetic reserves, and so once removed, your body suddenly has more energy freed up than before. I (Palehorse) generally like to enjoy the floaty feeling until my body adjusts and it goes away on its own. If you find it undesirable for whatever reason however, grounding can help. Simply feel roots extending from your feet down into the earth, and feel yourself pushing the excess energy down through them.

What is the Violet Flame?
The Violet Flame is a type of energy that acts as a potent tool of self-transformation. It is transmutative, which means that it doesn't just clear stagnant and negative energy; it turns it into something positive and beneficial. It is said to clear karma, which warrants some explanation. According to our experience and understanding, certain events, acts and thought patterns, especially habitual ones as well as those that carry a heavy emotional component, form energetic structures in the chakras, energy bodies and subconscious mind. These, in turn, influence the experiences we attract to ourselves. "Negative karma" thus has little to do with being a "bad person," and everything to do with the energetic debris and subconscious structures we unknowingly carry with us from past experiences, whether in this life or some other.

The Violet Flame transmutes these energetic structures and blockages, leaving free-flowing positive energy in their place. This negates any "karmic backlash" these structures would have manifested in one's life, which removes obstacles to manifesting the experience one truly desires. Healing with the Violet Flame improves the flow of energy through one's system, decreases anxiety and noticeably provides an overall feeling of well being.
